Alex Stigliano is a conservation executive and strategic partner to public land agencies and mission-driven nonprofits. His work focuses on expanding public access to natural landscapes through trail system leadership, grant strategy, and institutional capacity building. He has directed statewide trail programs with six-figure operating budgets, supervised multi-staff teams and coordinated more than 500 active volunteers, and managed complex grant portfolios including federal cost-share agreements. In fiduciary leadership roles within seven-figure nonprofit organizations, he has contributed to financial oversight, development strategy, and board governance. Combining field-grounded expertise with executive operational discipline, he brings public lands stewardship and institutional strategy together in service of durable conservation outcomes.
Alexโs career has centered on strengthening public land stewardship systems. As Florida Trail Program Director, he oversaw operations, volunteer engagement, and grant-funded initiatives supporting one of the stateโs premier long-distance trail systems. His work required collaboration with state and federal land management agencies, nonprofit partners, and regional stakeholders to align conservation priorities with access and infrastructure development.
In addition to program leadership, Alex has served in fiduciary and advisory capacities supporting nonprofit governance and development strategy. As Treasurer and Interim Development Director within a seven-figure organization, he contributed to financial oversight, donor communications, and grant coordination. His governance experience informs his approach to institutional capacity building and long-term sustainability planning.
